Root Canal Treatment
Root canals have had a bad reputation in the past and are mostly misunderstood. We want to assure you that it’s not the process that is painful; it’s actually your infection or decay that is the cause of the discomfort!
There is no better option than to keep your natural teeth as long as possible if you can. To help with this, Dr. Annis will evaluate the source of your pain and then determine if a root canal will be successful. Often times, the root canal can be completed at Mountain View Dentistry. At other times, Dr. Annis works closely with the most qualified specialists and may refer you to them to provide you the best treatment.
Why Would I Need a Root Canal?
When your tooth becomes injured, decayed or fractured an infection can develop. Sometimes the insult to the tooth may not be obvious to you or the dentist. Dental infections DO NOT go away on their own or even with antibiotics. The only way to resolve the issue is to remove the source (extractions) or preferably a root canal.
Comfort and Care
Great care is provided to make sure that your tooth is gently put to sleep prior to treatment remains asleep throughout the appointment. This also immediately alleviates your pain and discomfort. Dr. Annis uses rotary instruments to carefully remove the decay from the canals in a more comfortable and timely manner. There are multiple x-rays to ensure that the canals are cleaned and sealed fully. Dr. Annis will then restore your tooth with either a filling or a crown as appropriate.
